• Lowers the pH value of your water.

• Dissolves existing limescale deposits in pipes and on heating elements.
  • The risk of biofilm formation is greatly reduced. Limescale on heating elements increases power consumption and shortens the life of the heater.
• Changes metals contained in the water, such as iron and copper.
  • They are converted into filterable substances and the risk of cloudiness or discoloration of the water is reduced.

The reduction of the pH value depends on the hardness of the water. With high water hardness, the pH value is difficult to lower and more pH reducer is required. Therefore, no dosage quantities can be specified.

Depending on the region, the hardness of the tap water can vary. For smooth maintenance of your hot tub, it is therefore important to know how hard your water is. Your regional water utilities can provide you with the best information – a phone call is all it takes. Water hardness is specified in degrees of German hardness. In Germany, generally:

• soft water: Below 8°
• medium water: 8°-14°
• hard water: above 14°

Application:

First, measure the pH of the water. Then add approx. 50 ml of pH reducer per 1000 litres of water to the hot tub. Let the pumps run until everything is well mixed. After 20 minutes, measure the pH again. From the measured difference, you can estimate how much more pH-Minus you need to add to the water. As long as the pH value rises by itself, lower it to 6.0 - 6.5. If it no longer rises, adjust it to between 6.8 and 7.4. The pH value will rise repeatedly during the first few days/weeks because carbonic acid escapes from the water. Therefore, regularly measure and lower the pH value.
